Italian lenders cannot access the capital markets at viable cost, and most are shut out entirely. Unicredit had to pay Pimco a rate of 7.83% to raise a $3bn bond in November. The hard deadline is July when maturities of its TLTROs fall below twelve months. This automatically eats into the liquidity ratios of the banks. Since they cannot raise capital, it will leave them stranded.
